About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer – Full stack Java Developer to provide application leadership and support to internal applications and integration support to vendor-built applications within Wealth Investment Management Technology.  The role requires technical knowledge of Object-Oriented programming and demonstrated skills in JAVA and front end technologies.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
  • Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs
  • Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors
  • Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
  • Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals
  • Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor


Required Qualifications, US:

  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 5+ years of Java experience
  • 3+ years of Database experience including Oracle, MySQL, DB2 or Mongo DB
  • 3+ years of Web Services experience using RESTful or SOAP web services
  • 3+ years using JavaScript/TypeScript,HTML, CSS/SCSS in either Angular JS/Angular 8 or React


Desired Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience with Spring, Spring Batch, and Spring Boot
  • 3+ years of experience with Microservices development
  • Experience with cloud based tools: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF)
  • Experience with non-relational databases (i.e. NoSQL) such as MongoDB, Redis, CouchDB, Azure Cosmos, Amazon DynamoDB or Cassandra
  • Experience writing unit test cases in JUnit, Cucumber, Gherkin, Jasmine, Karma, or Selenium
  • Experience with Agile methodology
  • Knowledge and understanding of application or software security such as: web application penetration testing, secure code review, secure static code analysis
