Requisition Number: S_220445 Department: Research Resp-Inst Animal Care Prog-4250 Description of Work: The Insitutional Animal Care Program ( IACP ) at the Univeristy of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking to hire a temporary IACP Technician at one of two levels. The IACP Technician II provides variety of basic to skilled animal care duties to support research activities in the IACP centrally managed facilities. Responsibilities include general care and husbandry for multiple species of animals, maintenance of equipment, and collection of research data. In addition, oversees daily health care and perform technical tasks. Job requires ability to work irregular hours and weekends, work in inclement conditions, and have a suitable driving record to be able to drive university vehicles. In addition to the above responsibilities, the IACP Technician III position provides occasional supervision of 1-6 employees or students and assists with development of planning for the facility. Minimum Required Qualifications: IACP Tech II: Associate's degree, completed by start date, in: animal science, veterinary technology, or a related field required; equivalent experience/education considered. Ability to balance and complete multiple priority tasks simultaneously essential. Must be able to build trust and effective working relationships with teammates and clients – both internal and external. Must have competent computer skills including keyboarding, MS Word, Excel and browsers. Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills necessary. Skillful problem solving skills required. Must be able to lift 50lbs. Must have a valid driver's license and meet University driver eligibility requirements. IACP Tech III : Bachelor's degree, completed by start date, in: animal science, veterinary technology or related field; equivalent experience/education considered. Preferred Qualifications: IACP Tech II: 2-3 years relevant experience preferred. Experience with a research administration system desirable. AALAS ALAT and/or Veterinary Technician License within 6 months. IACP Tech III : 3-4 years relevant experience preferred. Experience with NUgrant or similar research administration system desirable. AALAS LAT and/or Veterinary Technician License within 1 year. Posted Salary: IACP Tech II: $18.00-$19.25; IACP Tech III: $19.25-$22.00 Job Type: Full-Time
