Scheduled Hours 37.5 Position Summary Washington University seeks an advancement professional for the position of Senior Associate Director of Advancement supporting Olin Business School. The Senior Associate Director is a leadership position responsible for supervising the Engagement Team (four members), managing a portfolio of annual and major gift prospects, and working closely with Advancement and Olin leadership to create a culture of philanthropy at Olin Business School through various engagement programs. The Senior Associate Director of Advancement reports to the Executive Director of Advancement and is responsible for planning, evaluating, and implementing a strong departmental program for assigned area/region. Job Description Primary Duties and Responsibilities Develop and manage a portfolio of annual fund and major gift prospects and donors. Develop and execute thoughtful, innovative, and individualized strategies for cultivating and soliciting donors and prospects. Meet all development goals jointly set with the Executive Director of Advancement. Metrics will focus on meaningful contacts, qualifications, solicitations, dollars solicited, dollars raised, and number of gifts closed. Assist the Executive Director with the scheduling, briefing, and staffing of travel by the dean, faculty and program managers who travel on behalf of Advancement. Supervise and manage the Engagement Team for Olin Advancement. The team of directors and one administrative assistant help build a culture of philanthropy at Olin Business School through engagement programs. Develop and implement and engagement strategy for Olin alumni, students, faculty, parents, and friends. Programs include, but are not limited to, Olin Alumni Board, mentor programs, graduate reunion, career treks, Entrepreneurship Summit, Olin Women in Business initiatives, class gift campaigns, young alumni engagement, and student-to-alumni transition. Set clear performance goals for each team member and provide mentorship, guidance, and regular feedback on performance. Assist with planning and execution of special Washington University events, including close partnership with Alumni Relations, Annual Giving, and other Advancement departments. Build and maintain partnerships across all campus partners which includes internal University Advancement colleagues and colleagues within various Olin Business School departments. Undertake special projects and assignments to advance the mission of Washington University. Develop a broad comprehension of Olinâ™s history, mission, strategic plan, faculty, degree programs, curriculum, and research centers. Preferred Qualifications Masterâ™s degree. Familiarity and interest in business. Fundraising experience with a p roven track record of annual, major, and planned gift solicitations. Ability to articulate the mission and aspirations of Washington University and Olin Business School. Development experience in a complex university environment. â Management experience. Experience in planning and executing meetings and events. â Demonstrated ability to think strategically, be creative, and effectively plan and implement high quality programs. Â Ability to balance a management role with individual fundraising and program responsibilities. Experience managing a budget. Honesty, integrity, and enthusiasm with a strong work ethic supported by commitment and follow through. Ability to think strategically and analytically, and then implement effectively. Demonstrated passion for initiating meetings and developing relationships with prospects. Capacity to listen carefully, learn quickly, and work effectively. Ability to work within a complex organization across multiple units dealing with diverse constituents toward development objectives. Sound judgment and the ability to make independent decisions while working collaboratively through a team approach. Comfort working in an environment that emphasizes measurable fundraising goals. Required Qualifications Bachelorâ™s degree and a minimum of five years of related experience. Grade G14 Salary Range $68,200.00 - $116,600.00 / Annually The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
