Requisition Number: S_220402 Department: Eastern NE Rsch & Ext Center-9750 Description of Work: Coordinate and implement research and demonstration projects for the Crop Management Diagnostic Clinics ( CMDC ) at the Eastern Nebraska Research, Extension and Education Center ( ENREEC ), Soybean Management Field Days ( SMFD ) at four sites around the state and assisting with other research and demonstration projects as needed. Responsible for working with the CMDC and SMFD management committees and faculty to design, plan, implement and manage the plot areas associated with these clinics. CDL required within 6 months of hire. EPA Non-commercial Pesticide Applicator license required within 6 months of hire. Minimum Required Qualifications: Associate's degree in Agriculture or related field plus 3 years basic farm experience with crop production and machinery maintenance required; equivalent education/experience considered. Precision, accuracy, attention to detail, and technical knowledge and ability necessary. Working knowledge of crop production required. Knowledge of farm machinery/equipment operation and application of herbicides/fertilizer/insecticides essential. Must have the ability to plan and carry out maintenance/improvements of equipment, machinery, and field plots. Basic data collection, analysis and report writing skills necessary. Basic word processing and spreadsheet program experience required. Must have a valid driver's license and meet University driver eligibility requirements. Preferred Qualifications: Project management and supervisory experience are helpful. Posted Salary: $19.50/hr minimum Job Type: Full-Time
