Requisition Number: S_220419 Department: Housing Dining Service-1131 Description of Work: This position directs the overall operation of the Catering Production Kitchens at Cather and East Dining. The manager provides a safe and inviting atmosphere, healthful meal choices, and quality food and service in an environment that promotes the diversity, growth, and education of our students, staff, faculty and guests. See: Minimum Required Qualifications: An associates degree In food systems management, business, food and nutrition, hotel/restaurant management or related field. Equivalent experience in a high volume Catering operation or fine dining Restaurant and education may be considered and 4 years food service management experience in a high volume commercial Catering or dining service operation required; equivalency considered. Experience supervising large quantity food production, food/labor/equipment/supply cost control, human resource management, purchasing and inventory control and special event planning required. Experience directing food safety and sanitation programs necessary. Excellent skills in team building, communication, customer relations essential. Knowledge of personal computers, word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail and internet necessary. Food Handlers Certification ( or ability to get within 6 months). National Restaurant Association Serv-Safe Certification (received within 1 year of employment).Must have a valid driver's license and meet University driver eligibility requirements. Preferred Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree In food systems management, business, food and nutrition, hotel/restaurant management or related field. Catering experience in a large volume University setting with a Catering department or Catering experience in a large business setting where there was a high level of catering required. Knowledge of kitchen equipment, food preparation, and recipe development, and food display. A critical eye for set-up and service. National Restaurant Association Serv-Safe Certification. National Restaurant Association HAACP Certification. Posted Salary: $60,000/yr minimum Job Type: Full-Time
