Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Staff Electronics Engineer (CNI LOS Lead) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.

This position will lead the technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for LOS Communications subsystems. The successful Candidate will work closely with suppliers to integrate the selected communications, navigation, and identification subsystems into airborne platforms. The candidate will lead the preparation of detailed requirements specifications, design documents and procedures, and certification plans and procedures. The Staff Electronics Engineer is expected to be a highly motivated self-starter with an ability to operate effectively with a team of engineers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Experience leading teams of engineers to design, develop and integrate military and commercial LOS communications, navigation, and identification subsystems
  • Experience integrating/troubleshooting CNI systems on airborne platforms
  • Familiarity with military COMSEC equipment
  • Requirements Verification/Verification Management
  • Management of Interface Control Documents
  • Wiring Diagrams/Block Diagrams (Visio)
  • Experienced control account manager (CAM) with responsibility for budget and schedule
  • Able to brief internal, external and government customers
  • Experience managing suppliers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Leads a cross functional team of associates with a wide range of skill sets, ensuring roles and responsibilities of all team members are well understood and executed.
  • Provide overall leadership to program team and ensure technical compliance.
  • Identifies and executes plans to mitigate program risks.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline AND 14 years of related professional/military experience in engineering, OR a Master's degree AND 12 years of related professional/military experience in engineering, OR a Ph.D. AND 9 years of related professional/military experience in engineering.
  • Must be familiar with Systems Engineering practices and processes
  • Must have experience in requirements flow down, maintenance and management of requirements using DOORS.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher that has been granted or renewed within the last 6 years or is currently under continuous evaluation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR) prior to the commencement of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
  • Knowledge of Communication Systems Engineering principles and related analyses
  • Familiarity with Advanced Beyond Line of Sight and Line of Sight concepts
  • Knowledge of future technologies in the CNI and Mission Systems area of expertise
  • Ability to create technology roadmaps with information gathered from customer representatives and industry partners
  • Multiple industry contacts and the ability to network with industry partners that provide advanced technologies
  • Proposal and BOE experience to support high fidelity ROM creation
Salary Range: $134,700 USD - $202,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
