Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Solaris Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide Systems Engineering support for a large distributed IT infrastructure.

  • Reporting to the application management lead, you will perform requirements analysis, design, and integration for a complex software application environments and collaboration infrastructures.

  • As a Solaris Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for providing critical systems and application infrastructure support.

  • Engineering Service Now application infrastructure, including application upgrades, review and implementation of security best practices, applications of patches, maintenance of users and groups, and implementation of application changes to improve efficiency.

  • Providing enterprise level disaster recovery solutions

  • Analyze system faults, troubleshoot, and run diagnostic test on applications to detect problems.

  • Evaluate and install developed software during various phases of testing.

  • Review and prepare documentation for systems and tests capable of installing and required software.

  • Develop the procedures and be capable of executing existing and developed procedures in order to maintain compliance with JTF-GNO mandates and/or vendor-released patches and upgrades.

  • Participating in a Change Management processes

  • Performing requirements analysis, design, and integration for complex software application environments and collaboration infrastructures

  • Providing IT Systems Engineering support on Solaris, and Linux

  • Working on project teams responsible for engineering and packaging releases to integrate within the customer's production IT environment

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree or Higher
- Min 10+ yrs of UNIX operating system experience
- Min 8+ yrs Linux operating system experience
- General knowledge of ITIL and the use of MS Project
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) credentials as an Oracle Solaris Sys Admin

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ITIL 4 Foundation Certification

  • Willingness to work after normal duty hours (nights and weekends) as needed

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • US Citizenship required and active TS clearance adjudicated within the last 6 years.  Must be open to CI poly.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%

  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access office equipment

  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
