Scheduled Hours 40 Position Summary This position is responsible for coordinating and completing projects within the End User Services team of Washington University IT (WashU IT). The employee works with sponsoring organizations and key stakeholders to define the scope, business objectives, and required project results. He/she oversees all aspects of projects, sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors and summarizes project progress. The employee builds and maintains working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved in the projects. The employee is familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. The employee relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. He/she performs a variety of tasks and leads, directs, and in some cases executes the work. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Job Description The work is normally performed in the offices located across campus. There will be activities that require trips to many University offices and offsite locations. This position does not qualify for remote work arrangements. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Develops and updates project plans, including information such as project objectives, technologies, information specifications, schedules, and staffing. Develops and manages work breakdown structure (WBS) Prepares project status reports Establishes and executes project communication plans Monitors and tracks project milestones and deliverables Confers with project personnel to identify and resolve problems Schedules and facilitates meetings related to projects Owns and executes project work to drive change. Perform other duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications Undergraduate degree plus a minimum of two years of project management experience in IT. PMP Certification. Communicates effectively and frequently both verbally and in writing with other members of the team. Collaborates with other teammates to provide assistance and expertise and receive expert input and help from others delivering the best solution and experience for the customer. Customer Service:  Must possess an aptitude for patience, professionalism, tactfulness, and empathy. Must be enthusiastic and committed to helping others and exhibit the ability to quickly assess the customer's specific needs to determine an appropriate course of action. Must be able to defuse stressful or anxious situations rapidly.   Ability to assess the specific needs of the customer and be able to communicate these to the project team. Strong analytical and project management skills. Technical expertise to assist in decision making and analysis. Ability to apply experience and judgment to plan and accomplish primary goals. Required Qualifications Undergraduate degree plus a minimum of two years of experience in a related field; additional project management experience in the field of work may be substituted for the required education. Grade G13 Salary Range $62,000.00 - $106,000.00 / Annually The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
