Performance Materials and Technologies (PMT) is a multi-billion dollar Strategic Business Group of Honeywell with more than 20,000 employees, serving over 125 countries. PMT has a tremendous opportunity for a Global Director of Logistics for its largest SBU, Advanced Materials.

The Logistics Director sets the direction for the operations department related to transportation and warehousing. Establishing and executing the PMT vision in conjunction with meeting performance and financial goals are paramount to the success of this position. This position supports and drives successful strategy execution and competitive superiority through logistics excellence. 

Accountable for Logistics operations and productivity and service initiatives, and responsible for developing and implementing long term strategic direction as well as delivering world class service, cost to serve, and quality performance while assuring HSE and regulatory compliance across a highly regulated global logistics network. 

Key Responsibilities:

·                Creates logistics strategy and leads the implementation

·                Leads and drives a continuous improvement culture

·                Drives effective balance on service levels and cost to serve in logistics – ensuring margin and desired service levels are maintained

·                Creates visibility & accountability on all projects; facilitate the development of line-of-sight metrics to link logistics activities to PMT’s strategic initiatives

·                Utilizes specific knowledge of the logistics market, trends, and capabilities to identify opportunities for cost reductions and savings opportunities

·                Creates plans and ensures HSE procedures and protocol are followed by 3PL Providers through evaluation of KPI measurements

·                Ensures injury and incident free operations

·                Manages ocean, rail, truckload, less-than-truckload, small parcel, heavy weight air inbound and outbound transportation, and logistics fleets (ISO tanks, cylinders, railcars) and maintenance

·                Leads 3PL management of 21 warehouse operations globally. Provides strategic leadership and oversight for 3PLs

·                Owns key warehouse and carrier service level KPI’s – driving On-Time to First Promise (OTFP) delivery performance

·                Accountable for inventory accuracy, including responsibility for the execution of cycle counts and physical inventory

·                Responsible for the physical management of all material in warehouses

·                Budgetary ownership (Annual Operating Plan) for a $200 million logistics spend

·                Develops logistics budget and manages spend including monthly reporting

·                Responsible for the service and HSE performance and ensures compliance for all transportation and warehousing activities

·                Accountable for delivery reliability

·                Drives yearly logistics cost productivity including strategic development of project/program deck and tactical execution of projects ensuring cost savings are realized. Accountable for delivering the productivity target of 5-7% on the budget per year

·                Service - improves and provides logistics solutions to support customer satisfaction

·                Leads improvement programs in transportation and warehousing

·                Responsible for growth and development of team. Leads and develops direct reports – establishes annual goals, conducts annual performance reviews, participates in annual talent planning process, drives succession planning and talent retention, and provides regular coaching and feedback. Attracts, recruits, and develops logistics talent


 

You Must Have:

·                Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, logistics, or supply chain management

·                10+ years progressive experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management for a manufacturing shipper

·                5+ years’ management experience

·                Extensive experience in Logistics or relevant functions in Integrated Supply Chain

·                Expensive experience in Supervision/Managerial role in a matrix environment

·                Strong leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to lead people/team and engage/mentor staffs

·                Proven ability to set, define, and deliver a strategic vision

·                Excellent collaboration and influence with management and cross functional teams. Proven ability to gain commitment at all levels in organization and drive change

·                High process orientation. Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills

·                Think independently and manage multiple projects through to completion

·                Demonstrated track record of achieving results and operational excellence

·                Experience in Chemical industry

·                Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification

·                MBA
