We are looking for you to join our team as a Radio Communication Systems Engineer and Manager based out of San Diego, CA. As a Comms Systems Engineering Manager at Northrop Grumman you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Enterprise-wide digital transformation. What You'll Get to Do:
She/he will provide guidance to direct report employees based on organizational goals and company policies.

Specific responsibilities include coordinating with programs for staffing, recruiting, training, preparing and delivering performance reviews to employees, evaluating/recommending employees for promotions evaluating salaries and coordinating with Human Resources on potential adjustments, assisting employees in preparing performance goals, providing career guidance to employees and counseling employees on their performance as necessary.

The qualified candidate will also provide significant (approximately 80%) direct support to programs and/or other technical efforts, including capture and proposals. This will include but is not limited to Comms Systems Architect for radio communication solutions as well as estimating, planning, risk management, managing cost and schedule (EVMS) and quality on programs to meet contract commitments. This management role will require you to complete an assessment as part of the application process.

Basic Qualifications:
- 3 years of relevant experience in wireless/ radio communications, with a Bachelor's in Engineering.
- Must have direct supervisory/managerial experience and/or significant team leadership (IPT lead)
- Ability to facilitate/mediate in conflict resolution matters
- Must have a full understanding of his/her specific engineering discipline
- Knowledge of engineering process, be proficient in process development and implementation as well as functional organization aspect
- Performs technical planning, functional analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate requirements into hardware and software specifications.
- Familiarity with other Engineering disciplines
- Must have an active DoD Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

- 5 years of relevant experience in software-defined radios/waveform development, with a Masters in Engineering.
- Experience with real-time embedded communication systems
- Hands on experience with DoD communications systems, including software-defined radio solutions

Salary Range: $119,600 USD - $179,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
