Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Staff Engineer Systems to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in San Diego, CA.

The selected candidate will work closely with the Global Hawk Enterprise Team in various engineering functions, and leading resolution of technical and programmatic issues as they arise.

Essential Functions:
  • Serve as a Systems Engineering (SE) leader across the Global Hawk Enterprise portfolio, reporting directly to enterprise SE leadership.
  • Leadership skills to plan, organize and manage technical activities and to effectively motivate multiple disciplines to work as an integrated team across locations and organizations.
  • Serve as Technical Leader for SE proposals, internal and external change coordination, and managing internal and external requirements and interface control
  • Provide Systems Engineering Leadership for the full lifecycle of requirements and verification, integration, integrated functional capability, as well as the specialty engineering: cybersecurity, safety, human factors, EMI/EMC
  • This role will provide full lifecycle SE oversight for all Technical Proposals as well as leading a Global Hawk Enterprise-focused SE IPT.
Basic Qualifications:
  • BS in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, Aerospace engineering or Computer Science, with 14 Years with BS, 12 Years with Masters and, 9 Years with PhD.
  • Experience with earned value management system
  • Previous experience leading a technical team of 8 or greater
  • Experience in technical leadership as IPT lead or sub-IPT technical lead in systems engineering, software, electronics or payloads IPTs
  • Active DoD Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active Top Secret clearance
  • IFC Management experience
  • Experience in Systems Engineering proposals
  • Full development lifecycle experience (from program startup to closure)
  • Experience in Autonomous Systems Programs
  • Global Hawk Architecture and Integration experience
  • Proven change leadership; evidence of championing technical change which resulted in performance improvements and/or team efficiencies
  • Master's degree in a STEM field
Salary Range: $156,000 USD - $234,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
