Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior LINUX Engineer to join our team in Pax River, MD.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Maintain LINUX and Windows networks, servers, and client workstations

• Install, configure, maintain, and administer Linux and Windows networks, network devices, client machines, and servers

• Implement and support application packages

• Procure und repair components necessary to maintain network and information technology systems

• Conduct systems analysis and summarize the data collected in a technical document written in a manner that is understood and usable by the decision makers

• Maintain system/network backups

• Support/recognize/examine a potential security violation, take appropriate action to report the incident as required by regulation, and mitigates any adverse impact and preserves evidence

• Apply instructions and pre-established guideline to perform IA tasks within the computing environment

• Provide user IA support for computer environment systems, peripherals, and applications

• Support, monitor, test, and troubleshoot hardware and software problems pertaining to their computing environment

• Apply computer environment specific IA program requirements to identify areas of weakness

• Apply appropriate computer environment access controls

• Install and operate the Network and computer systems in a test configuration manner that does not alter the program code or compromise security safeguards

• Conduct tests of IA safeguards for computing environment system in accordance with SSP implementation plans and SOPs

• Apply established cybersecurity procedures and safeguards and comply with responsibilities assignment

• Develop and implement access control lists on switches and other network devices

• Comply with system termination procedures and incident reporting requirements related to potential computing environment security incidents or actual breaches

• Implement applicable patches; including IAVAs, IAVBs and IATAs for computing environment COTS products

• Understand and implement technical vulnerability corrections (i.e. workarounds, mitigation and/or remediation)

• Coordinate Assess and Authorization activities with Information System Security Officer/Manager

• Ability to perform penetration tests and vulnerability assessment’s using ACAS vulnerability scanner, Defense Information Systems Agency (DlSA) STIGs and Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP)

• Support Security Test & Evaluation or Validation Tests (Part of Assess and Authorization Process) 

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field or 5 years of IT related experience

• Current DODD 8140/8570 IAT II certification (or higher) required (e.g., CCNA Security, Security+CE, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, etc) or ability to obtain in 6 months of employment with MT’s sponsorship

• MCSE or another relevant current Operating System certification

• Strong security awareness

• Must be knowledgeable of the Department of Defense (DoD) information system security compliance and implementation guidance.  Specifically, NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF), DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)

• RHEL Linux experience

Security Clearance Requirements:

• Active DoD TS clearance based upon a SSBI completed within the last 6 years

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.

• Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.

• Often positions self to maintain computers in the lab, including under the desks and in the server closet.

• Frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

• May be asked to move Audio/Visual or Computer equipment
