The Software Team at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Principal / Sr. Principal Software Engineerbased out of Camarillo, CA. If you are an experienced Embedded Real Time Software Engineer or Software Developer, WE WANT YOU! Join our team and support our Growler Block II Program. All Software tasking will be performed at our Northrop Grumman Camarillo office and the Naval Air Warfare Center, Point Mugu.

What you'll get to do:
  • Embedded Realtime System Software Rehost
  • Work in an Agile environment as part of a scrum team
  • Resolve software and system defects
  • Collaborate with our customer, internal NGC sites and disciplines
  • Participate and contribute to peer reviews, critical milestone reviews, and technical inter-change meetings
  • Tools Utilized are project dependent and may include various VM/CM tools such as Atlassian (JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence), Rational (ClearCase and ClearQuest), GIT, and MFS, Rhapsody/UML for design, Green Hills Integrity RTOS, ADA, C/C++, C#, Java, DOORs, Windows and LINUX

This requisition may be filled as a Principal Software Engineer or Sr. Principal Software Engineer.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Software Engineer:
  • BS degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with 5 years of experience; or Master's degree in a STEM field with 3 years of experience; Or PHD a STEM field with 0 years of experience
  • Must have experience with a higher order language such as Ada, C/C++, C#, RDBMS, MFS, Agile, UML, and real time embedded software development
  • Knowledge of object oriented development
  • Ability to function as a member of an integrated team
  • Candidate must currently have an Interim or Active U.S. Government DOD Secret Clearance prior to start date. (If Interim Secret, Candidate must be able to obtain full Secret Clearance once started)

  • BS degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with 9 years of experience; or Master's degree in a STEM field with 7 years of experience; Or PHD a STEM field with 4 years of experience
  • Must have experience with a higher order language such as Ada, C/C++, C#, RDBMS, MFS, Agile, UML, and real time embedded software development
  • Knowledge of object oriented development
  • Ability to function as a member of an integrated team
  • Candidate must currently have an Interim or Active U.S. Government DOD Secret Clearance prior to start date. (If Interim Secret, Candidate must be able to obtain full Secret Clearance once started)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong verbal communication and customer service skills
  • Experience working full software life cycle experience on large scale formal DoD program
  • Experience programming with C++ language and/or ADA.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Experience with real-time embedded software development
  • Electronic Warfare system development and design experience
  • Knowledge of Radar, Signal Processing, Advanced Receivers/Transmitters
  • Current DoD Secret Clearance or higher
Salary Range: $101,400 USD - $152,200 USD
Salary Range 2: $125,800 USD - $188,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
