About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Systems Operations Engineer

within the CLT (Consumer Lending Technology) Personal Lending Technology Platform support Group that is responsible for the overall support of the applications serving our Personal Lending and Retail Cards customers.

We are seeking a Sr. Systems Operations Engineer to provide day to day application support and monitoring of both production and non-production environments.

Within the scope of the Personal Lending and Retail Cards application portfolio; Role provides day to day application support and monitoring of test and production environments.  This includes but is not limited to environmental health monitoring, triaging of alerts and responding to user reported issues.  

The key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Serves as a Support subject matter expert and liaison for the line of business in support of daily inquiries, problem & incident management, project delivery, and escalations as required

- Leads application upgrades and vulnerability remediation efforts across a variety of technologies

- Responds to escalations of application system alarms and daily processing requirements; escalations and proper problem & incident management

Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and execution - Partner with Development Teams to keep BCP and game-plans updated.

- Monitor shared mailbox used by support teams, triage ticketing, and respond to user initiated requests, resolve or escalate for next level support, and meet service level agreements.

- Facilitate preventative action and root cause analysis discussions (Post Mortems) with service management for follow-up planning and resolutions

- Gather and contribute to documentation for run-books, WIKIs, and shared knowledge stores

Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills. Background in one or more infrastructure or application technologies and has strong problem solving skills. Position will work closely with business, development, and peer technology teams to support initiatives, incidents, and project deliverables.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead or participate in managing all installed systems and infrastructure within the Systems Operations functional area

  • Contribute in increasing system efficiencies and lowering the human intervention time on related tasks

  • Review and analyze moderately complex operational support systems, application software, and system management tools to ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability

  • Work with vendors and other technical personnel for problem resolution

  • Lead team to meet technical deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of technical process controls or standards

  • Collaborate with vendors and other technical personnel to resolve technical issues and achieve highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability

Required Qualifications, US:

  • 4+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 4+ years of application support using Linux and/or Windows operating systems, as well as supporting applications that utilize database management systems such as MS SQL Server, Oracle, or Mondo.

  • 3+ years of experience with Application performance, monitoring and optimization using tools such  Blazemeter, JMeter, Splunk and AppDynamics

  • 3+ years of experience with scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, Python, Shell, VBScript, or JavaScript

  • 2+ years of experience designing and managing Splunk Dashboards, reports, lookup tables, and summary indexes, including Splunk SPL

Desired Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of application production support experience

  • 3+ years of infrastructure support experience

  • 4 + years of experience troubleshooting environments across the entire architecture (i.e. applications to infrastructure)

  • Knowledge and understanding of system monitoring and automation

  • Knowledge and understanding of system/application architecture and design concepts

  • Experience with one or more Agile tools used for tracking user stories or backlogs, such as Confluence or Jira
