Engineer/Sr Engineer, Ignition Development

Description

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Responsible for development of ignition control modules including interfacing with the engine control module, development and ownership of ignition system diagnostics to meet OBD requirements and provide support for software and calibration development as necessary. Hands-on experience with various equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators and data acquisition.
  • Verify and validate the functionality of Cummins’ products across a wide range of customer requirements, across a variety of applications, in various environments.
  • Evaluate results from a wide range of analyses and functional tests to assess product risk and performance. These results are expected to drive quality decisions and proactively resolve product issues before the product reaches the customer
  • Obtain input and negotiate with Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R) stakeholders to define technical requirements and deliver an optimized component-based analytical and experimental verification plan to the program or project team.
  • Make decisions in verification and validation that impact product performance, reliability, and durability.
  • Apply and support the improvement of processes such as technical requirements, IDFMEA, Engineering Standard Work (ESW), DVP&R, test planning, and problem-solving tools such as Integrity, Microsoft Power BI, and McParts to enable high quality decision making.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines is required.
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience
  • Experience in Product Verification and Validation Management
  • Experience in product interface management & integration to ensure the product meets requirements
  • Hands-on experience with various equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators and data acquisition

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
