About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the WIMT Platform Services team. As a Senior Software Engineer you will implement SRE (Site Reliability Engineer) practices and deliver enterprise capabilities that improve overall stability and availability of applications within the Wealth and Investment business lines. You'll join Software engineering team who enjoys and thrives on solving complex problems through innovation, impacting change at scale.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff
  • Strong Operations and application support background with an expertise in writing code, building automation and enabling DEVOPS and SRE practices.
  • Ensure the applications are available as per the defined Service Level Objectives / Agreements, have full-stack observability, and are integrated with CI/CD and always-on by introducing continuous improvement through code, automation, self-healing/autonomic capabilities, APIs, continuous testing (performance, smoke, regression, functional, chaos) and providing operational insight through analytics.
  • Assess the availability of critical business flows, identify service level objectives and indicators, and conduct destructive and resiliency testing to reach 99.995% availability for the firm's critical products and services leading to improved customer experience and customer satisfaction.
  • Instrument applications for enterprise observability through Application Monitoring, Logging, Visualization, Analytics.
  • Explore continuous inspection capabilities code quality to identify problems before they manifest in production.
  • Design self-healing and resiliency patterns, automate manual steps to reduce TOIL.
  • Share support responsibilities for critical applications, to identify systemic issues, conduct blameless postmortems, root cause analysis, and introduce strategic solutions in code that solve the problem and eliminate repeat issues.

Required Qualifications, US:

  • 4+ years of Software Engineering and implementation experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 2 + years of experience developing or supporting IT Service Management solutions (e.g. Incident Management, Change Management, Asset Management and Configuration Management)
  • Experience with: Java or/and .NET on Linux or Windows OS and platform.
  • 1+ year of build-deploy automation and configuration experience within the Linux and Unix environment
  • 1+ year of product development and production support experience
  • Experience with one or more Observability/Monitoring tools: AppDynamics, Splunk, Grafana, JAWS

Desired Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience with Cloud technologies.
  • 1+ years of experience with Waterfall and Agile project methodologies.
  • Experience with system administration across multiple platforms.
  • Experience with Ansible automation tool.
  • Experience with version control or source code repositories to include: Jenkins,  GitHub, Artifactory or XMLSpy ,
  • Experience with one or a combination of the following Python, API Calls, Reverse Proxy, or Process Automation.
  • Experience with one or more Testing Frameworks: Selenium, JMeter, Blazemeter, Performance Center, Perfecto, Cucumber, Gherkin, ALM, Gremlin, Chaos Monkey, Chaos Toolkit, Simian Army, Toxi Proxy
  • Knowledge of one or more additional capabilities: AIOps (Moogsoft, BigPanda, UIpath), Robotic Processing, Automation, Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML) Frameworks, Capacity Management.
  • Experience with one or more Observability/Monitoring tools: Elastic, Kibana, New Relic, DataDog, Kafka, CloudWatch, Jaeger, Zipkin, Big Panda, Splunk, TrueSight, and Prometheus.
  • Experience with one or more OS and Platforms: AWS, PCF, PKS, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Azure, and VMware.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to articulate complex material to a diverse audience.
  • Education BS/BA degree or higher
