About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Real Estate Capital Markets (RECM) Originator to provide balance sheet and CMBS loans to sponsors and brokers, covering the Florida market.


In this role, you will:

  • Identify, pursue, originate and close both CMBS and Balance Sheet commercial mortgages in the Florida market
  • Develop a sustainable book of business that is diversified across clients with the goal of enhancing overall relationships and building the client base
  • Execute on referrals from within the Wells Fargo in a timely manner while always keeping referring team member up to date
  • Conduct loan analyses on standardized templates, and communicate sizing and pricing indications to clients
  • Interface with internal screening teams and borrowers to achieve consensus on terms, drafts Application with Screening Team, and convey Application to Borrower
  • Manage the borrower through the underwriting and closing phase of each loan, while working closely with RECM's underwriting and closing staff 
  • Work with Lender Counsel to manage and resolve legal issues
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of loan products and provide market intelligence to maintain a competitive edge
  • Work independently to identify opportunities
  • Keep senior team members abreast of important issues relating to loan opportunities and client relationships
  • Strategically collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and develop client relationships to achieve business objectives within Commercial Mortgage Origination functional area
  • Acts as a mentor and coach to more junior staff

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Real Estate Capital Markets Origination experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Commercial Real Estate loan origination experience
  • Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities and Commercial Real Estate Balance Sheet Lending experience
  • Ability to lead complex structured transactions both independently and in collaboration with other team members
  • Ability to effectively identify credit risk and lead presentations to internal credit committee as well as external partners (Rating Agencies, B-Buyers, etc.)
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships
  • Ability to generate revenue and actively participate in the successful completion of complex transactions
  • Ability to interact effectively and confidently with senior management and all levels of an organization
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • High level of initiative and accountability
  • A BS/BA Degree or higher

Job Expectations:

  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
