This is an Associate level role reporting directly into the Markets Trading & Structuring APAC COO, covering the related activities in the Macro (Rates, FX and Cross Asset Solutions) and Spread (IG Credit and Agency RMBS) businesses in the region. This role also entails broader legal entity responsibilities for the presences in Hong Kong and Singapore. The success of this role centers around being entrepreneurial and independently establishing close partnerships with all desks and logistics & control functions, both locally and abroad.

Driving the Regional Strategy

  • Assist with the strategic planning process for trading and structuring – collate feedback, synthesize messages and build plans
  • Track business performance, develop appropriate risk and performance reporting based on stakeholder feedback

Providing Regional Project Oversight and Expertise

  • Support APAC Trading and Structuring related projects
  • Coordinate related business requirements analyses
  • Strategically review business, simplification and regulatory change programs
  • Coordinate New Product approvals
  • Identify efficiencies across the Front-To-Back ('FTB') and work with the relevant stakeholders to achieve them

Providing Front-To-Back Oversight

  • Review Travel, Client and Gift expenses, ensuring alignment with Global and Regional Policies
  • Assist in the development and implementation of regional policies and procedures
  • Coordinate between the business and the logistics & control functions
  • Understand, champion and foster a robust risk and compliance environment
  • Help monitor and enforce process best practice within the Front Office
  • Provide product and process subject matter expertise in risk and control assessments

Running Business Administration Processes

  • Ensure Business Continuity Plans are maintained and current
  • Produce Management Information as and when required

  • University degree with a post graduate degree or other professional designation being advantageous
  • 5+ years of working within or directly for a Markets business
  • Understanding of FICC products and their execution channels
  • Experience in trading, sales and structuring FTB processes and controls with exposure to APAC regulatory regimes
  • Experience with multiple projects and playing various roles within them (data analyst, BA, PM etc.)
  • Proficient multi-tasker with experience in managing multiple concurrent day-to-day activities and project deliverables
  • Detail orientated, proactive problem solver with strong numerical, verbal and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (VBA a plus) and PowerPoint
  • Mandarin / Japanese language skills a plus, but not required
