Requisition Number: 2022-047 Business Unit: College of Dentistry Department: COD-Oral Biology 50000741 Reg-Temp: Full-Time Regular Position Summary: The Director of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology provides technical skills and abilities related to this dental specialty, while providing oversight and management to a busy radiology unit that supports patient visits in the UNMC College of Dentistry Lincoln Clinics. The Director serves as course director for several courses in the predoctoral dental program and the dental hygiene program. The Director also provides lectures and clinical support for postgraduate students of the College as well as other residency programs within UNMC . The Director develops and presents continuing education courses for College faculty and staff, as well as regional dental practitioners. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Teaching: The Director serves as course director for selected radiology courses, and provides instruction, including clinical instruction to other courses as required. The director also provides interpretation of images to serve the clinical educational mission for dental, dental hygiene and postgraduate clinical patients. Research: The Director is expected to perform research and mentoring to students and residents. Expected outcomes include presentations, publications and contributing to grant submissions. Clinic Operations: Ensure that Radiology Clinic provides the required support to the predoctoral, postgraduate, and dental hygiene programs. Ensure radiology technicians are trained and properly supervised to perform their duties. Clinical Practice: The opportunity to practice one day per week is available. Required Qualifications: Applicants must have a DDS / DMD degree (or foreign equivalent) and completed an advanced training program with certification in oral maxillofacial radiology from an ADA accredited institution and must be eligible for a Nebraska dental license. Supplemental Qualifications: Experience with clinical teaching. Salary Range: Salary Commensurate with Experience
