Requisition Number: S_220179 Department: Vet Diagnostic Center-7278 Description of Work: This position serves as the primary receptionist for the Nebraska Veterinary Diagnostic Center ( NVDC ).  Position receives samples in person and by mail, answers phones, and triages requests to ensure customers are directed to appropriate staff.  Due to the nature of inquiries, experience with medical and/or veterinary terminology is required.  Provides specialized medical records and administrative support to the customers, staff, and pathologists.  Duties include data entry and verification in LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System), performing medical and veterinary transcription from dictation, and generating reports and billing.  The University of Nebraska-Lincoln seeks to attract and retain a high performing and diverse workforce in which employees' differences are respected and valued to better meet the varying needs of the diverse populations we serve. See: . Minimum Required Qualifications: High school diploma plus two years of clerical experience and one year of medical transcription experience; equivalent education/experience considered. Familiarity with medical terminology. Experience must demonstrate excellent typing, proofreading, grammar, and spelling skills. Working knowledge of general office practices and office equipment. Experience with PC-based word processing.  Preferred Qualifications: Education in medical/veterinary terminology, anatomy, and physiology. Experience working in a medical or veterinary medical office. Veterinary Technician license.  Posted Salary: $16.50/hr minimum Job Type: Full-Time
