Job Description:

As a R&D Systems Engineer you will be responsible for new product definition, system level design and system architecture of for Cryogenics, CTI and Polycold, product lines. You will be asked to integrate new technologies and develop innovative customer solutions.

Responsibilities:
  • Join forces with marketing product managers, application engineers and technologist to create initial product requirements by understanding the application requirements (process, compliance, electrical, mechanical) and performing functional system modeling.
  • Define new product architectures (system and subsystem level) and control algorithms that enable cutting-edge solutions for current and future customer systems
  • Lead the feasibility study for new products in conjunction with core tech technologist and product marketing. Then present the results (new product definition, product manufacturing flow, elevator pitch, etc..) to upper management for approval to start product development
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the development team during the design and evaluation of the new product before market release, including: Review the system and subsystems design before final release into protype and propose the test strategy and work with the verification and validation engineering team to ensure compliance to the product requirements
  • Help author technical datasheets and other technical support material for new product
Requirements:
  • Requires a BS degree in mechanical, electrical, mechatronics or equivalent
  • 2 years of professional experience working in a systems engineering role
  • Knowledge of MATLAB / Simulink or other modeling tools is preferred
  • Must possess interpersonal and communication skills as a technical leader of the team, flexibility and adaptability to changing situations.
  • Desired understanding of system level electrical design, communication protocols and exposure on microcontroller/microprocessor (ARM, DSP) & FPGA, memory and high speed interfaces.
  • Desired understanding of regulatory compliance of UL, CE, SEMI, and other global standards.
  • Desired understanding of thermodynamic systems, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, controls and instrumentation as applied to advanced cooling system development.
  • Desired certification and experience in Design for Six Sigma or comfort with statistical methods such as hypothesis testing, DOE, and SPC
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, good written and oral communications skills
  • Able to develop skills necessary for advancement
