Requisition Number: 2022-001 Business Unit: College of Medicine Department: Pathology/Microbiology 50000521 Reg-Temp: Full-Time Regular Position Summary:  Dr. Leah Cook in the Department of Pathology & Microbiology is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to conduct and coordinate research activities in a high paces laboratory that is studying mechanisms of neutrophils in progression and chemo-resistance of pancreatic and prostate caner and exploration of novel therapeutic targets and strategies. The successful candidate will develop and implement tests, methods and procedures; perform research using mouse models, cell culture, and cloning techniques; analyze and review findings; and provide recommendations relevant to the continuation and successful completion of the project(s) and the laboratory. Provides research oversight towards graduate student projects in conjunction with PI.  Candidates should hold a  Ph.D. degree in cancer, biology, molecular biology, or related scientific field that has been awarded within 3 years of this application, and experience in research laboratory setting, including animal models.  Preferred experience in cancer research and redox metabolism research with a knowledge of the development of novel therapeutics, molecular biology techniques and overall understanding of tumor biology.
