Job Description:

The Fixed Income, Currencies, and Commodities ("FICC") Sales & Trading organization within Global Markets operates eight businesses that are interconnected to serve our clients' needs. The FICC business portfolio includes Global Rates, Global FX & Local Currency Trading ("LCT"), Global Financing & Futures ("GF&F"), Global Credit, Municipal Banking & Markets ("MBAM"), Global Mortgages & Securitized Products, Counterparty Portfolio Management ("CPM") and Global Commodities lines of business ("LOB"). In addition, horizontal groups such as Quantitative Strategies & Data Group ("QSDG"), Market Electronic Trading ("e-Trading") and Sustainable Finance Group are integrated with these businesses and work alongside product segments.

FICC COO is seeking a driven, self-motivated individual to provide COO support for FICC LOBs within the Global Markets organization. The individual will be part of the central office FICC COO team that provides support and management for each of the 8 FICC LOBs. The ideal candidate for this role should be able to operate in a fast-paced work environment and multitask. Attention to detail and accuracy are essential in order to be successful in this position. The candidate will also be able to build relationships and have the ability to work collaboratively across the organization, including with senior leaders in Global Markets and the GM COO organization.

Key Responsibilities Include :
  • Work closely with FICC COO to manage projects that impact multiple LOBs within the FICC organization
  • Work with various support and control partners across the Global Markets organization to deliver results
  • Help to increase efficiency and best practices across Global Markets
  • Partner with the front office to support FICC LOBs on a day to day basis
  • Become a natural central point of contact for all support and control partners in the FICC ecosystem
  • Assist the FICC LOB teams through various expense reviews, audits, examinations, and operational events - including post review /event deliverables (i.e., action plans)
  • Become a trusted advisor to Global Markets COO partners, trading, sales, and senior management
  • Assist FICC LOBs with the development of strategic and tactical plans and initiatives, as needed
  • Influence, develop and maintain successful relations with support partners across the Enterprise
  • Hold FICC LOBs to defined timelines for all deliverables
  • Help prepare responses to regulatory requests
  • Act as a key business partner to LOB technology teams; where appropriate validate FLU business tech requests to ensure appropriate ROI


Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of financial services, business management, or COO experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of fixed income and derivative products
  • Good understanding of the FICC organization and its infrastructure (systems, workflows, etc.) considered a plus
  • Ability to prioritize multiple deliverables with competing deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task and demonstrate good organizational and time management capabilities
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to influence others
  • Outstanding work ethic
  • Ability to quickly develop subject matter expertise across a broad spectrum of issues
  • Must be proactive and demonstrate ownership and initiative taking
  • Strong expertise in excel & presentational software
  • Some programming and coding knowledge considered a plus
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to work effectively and under pressure and time constraints
