Carmeuse's multi-generation digital strategy is focused on digitalization of Carmeuse Manufacturing Operations to be ready for next generation Industry 4.0 smart manufacturing.
Digitalization of Carmeuse operations will address the opportunities across the lime value chain from mining all the way to dispatch for unlocking efficiency gains, productivity improvement while meeting our safety and sustainability goals.
Building a strong foundation of industrial data platform with manufacturing data lake and data fabric layer on cloud that integrates data from multiple IOT data sources (PLC, HMI, SCADA, connected assets) and enterprise systems (ERP, MES etc.) will be crucial in driving:
1. Real time visibility of end-to-end operations with one data one truth
2. Aggregated insights driving data driven decisions at Operational level and Plant Management level
3. Building a data foundation for predictive and prescriptive insights for operational excellence
This role will be key in driving leadership and execution of Carmeuse industrial data platform and building cloud solutions that will deliver value for Carmeuse Operations. This position is part of Carmeuse Digital organization reporting to Global Digital Director

This position is expected to drive the strategy, architecture, and implementation of Industrial plant data foundation layer that will drive end to end visibility of Operational data for Plants. This means defining a clear technology stack that can scale for data acquisition from edge, data storage /processing analytics and visualization for real time insights.

This position is also responsible for building and managing a team of developers and solution architects that deliver cloud solutions to solve specific business use cases for Carmeuse operations within production, maintenance, quality, energy, supply chain and health & safety.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business partners, IT, OT teams to define clear business outcome that needs to be addressed through a manufacturing data lake
  • Define technology stack that enables IOT data ingestion from edge to cloud working closely with OT teams
  • Define a scalable architecture for entire plant data pipeline, incorporating best practices at each level - connectivity, ingestion, storage, compute, analysis, visualization with SMEs from all areas to meet user needs
  • Define an integration strategy with data connectors, APIs and middleware as needed for a robust experience for end users
  • Develop, hire, and grow a team that delivers implementation and ongoing support for manufacturing data lake and cloud solution applications
  • Provide leadership in managing and motivating team members to meet project goals and milestones as per plans
  • Lead, guide and support the team in implementing multiple cloud solutions from design through production
  • Manage 3rd party resources to ensure timely and cost-effective execution of programs


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering with 7+ years of work experience or Masters /PhD degree with 5+ years of experience
  • Experience implementing digital transformation solutions for manufacturing company is highly preferred
  • Experience in defining scalable Data Lakehouse architectures and implementing manufacturing data lake
  • Experience in implementing cloud data solutions handling streaming IOT data and analytics is must
  • Experience with IOT stack and handling complex use cases with stream analytics and time series data bases
  • Experience with cloud solutions of AWS (preferred) or Azure or others
  • Experience with streaming data visualization using Grafana, Seeq, Pi Vision or others
  • 3+ years proven successful Project Management experience applying Agile methodology
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Approximately 20% travel in US and Europe
