Mortgage Loan Production Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

Management responsibility for training personnel and supervising activities to insure loan applications move through the processing pipeline, closing activities and are sold to investors in the most expeditious and compliant manner. Responsible for insuring all managed staff are aware of regulatory requirements and program guidelines that are required for completion of their work as well as the most efficient methods for using the department's Loan Origination System to complete their tasks. Tracks efficiency within the production staff through use of reports and implements strategies to insure department goals are reached on both an individual and group basis. Makes staffing changes when needed and recommends when additional positions are required. Monitors changes in investor guidelines regarding acceptable documentation to insure loans are completed and will be purchased within the time frames required by the lock terms.

Manages the process of documenting loans to meet underwriting and program guidelines.

Directs loan closings to insure compliance requirements, program guidelines, and investor documentation expectations are met.

Supervises delivery of closed loans to investors so that purchase of the loans is accomplished within the timeline required and generates the funds expected from the sale.

Reviews and publishes efficiency reports to gage appropriate service expectations are being met in production activities.

Assists loan officers when questions arise about documentation requirements needed to fulfill program and underwriter expectations.

Responds to inquiries, communications and report requests from investors and auditors regarding production activities and exceptions.

Manages staff including cross training and department planning.

Participates with other managers to develop and implement department plans and goals.

REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge of daily mortgage loan operations.

Knowledge of mortgage loan origination system.

Knowledge of federal and state regulation as well as investor and program guidelines.

Must be able to interact with other offices and departments for accurate resolutions to problems.

Must be flexible and able to work additional hours when crucial to the department environment.

Able to perform in a highly sensitive environment, deal with confidential matters and meet deadlines.

Outstanding listening and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Critical thinking skills.

Must work well under stress and deadlines.

Must be able to multi-task.

Strong customer service skills.

Constant use of computer screens.

Ability to operate a computer keyboard, use hand to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk, see or hear.

Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time during the workday.

Long periods of typing and repetitive motion.

Ability to lift and/or move and carry up to 50 pounds (load/unload boxed coin).
