The Kansas City National Security Campus (KCNSC) is a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) facility managed and operated by Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technology (FM&T).  Our primary business is to manufacture sophisticated mechanical, electronic, and engineered material components for our nation’s defense system.  Our goal is to seek innovative solutions that surpass our customers’ expectations.  To accomplish this, we research, develop, and deploy some of the most advanced design and manufacturing technologies in use in the United States today.  Working in partnership with the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), this highly visible role of Digital Engineering Leader will provide the opportunity to showcase and grow both technical and organizational leadership, as the individual contributor in this position will develop and lead technology strategy related to deploying digital engineering tools and processes across KCNSC and the NSE to accelerate product development timelines, increase responsiveness, and reduce risk around quality and schedules.

This role will be responsible for:

  • Leading and coordinating strategies related to Digital Engineering by integrating digital approaches that use authoritative sources of data and models across disciplines to support production-related activities and improve information flow and transformation throughout the Product Realization Process
  • Leading a matrix team with representatives from across business units to plan and execute transformation activities for product realization
  • Working directly with the CTO, and partnering with the CIO to assure alignment of Digital Engineering transformations with strategic Digital Transformation roadmaps
  • Partnering with Program Management to identify and allocate appropriate programmatic funding sources
  • Working with management to identify and engage technical resources
  • Influencing external customers and stakeholders to integrate Production Agency needs and requirements into NSE strategies and plans
  • Coordinate with other site initiatives and strategies to incorporate Digital Engineering tools and approaches into product realization and business processes

You Must Have:

  • Must be an U.S. Citizen in order to obtain a DOE “Q” level clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering (ABET accredited), Physics, Science or related technical/scientific field
  • Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in challenging and accountable engineering roles
