Job Description:

Join General Dynamics IT and be a part of a team that solve some of the world's most complex technical challenges. The Navy Standard Integrated Personnel System - Navy Personnel and Pay (NSIPS-NP2) is the Navy's single, field-entry, electronic pay and personnel system for all USN/USNR Sailors. We are seeking a Business Objects Developer to join our team.

Your typical duties include:
  • Design of new reports, interactive Business Intelligence artifacts, or data visualizations.
  • Development of data analysis work products as designed.
  • Refinement of data analysis work products developed.
  • Migration of data analysis work products from one reporting software environment to another, such as from development environment to test environment.
  • Development of new, or modification of existing, metadata describing data structures and encodings to facilitate end-user discoverability and understanding.
  • Development of new, or modification of existing, aggregations to facilitate analytic performance improvements.
  • Definition of new, or modification of existing, roles controlling access to data analysis work products.
  • Develop or enhance data analysis work products as assigned by the Government.
  • Packaging of data analysis work products for deployment to test and production environments.
  • Analysis and resolution of defects identified in data analysis work products.
  • Create or modify documentation related to data analysis work products.
  • Create or modify training material related to data analysis work products.
  • Assists with all phases of the software development lifecycle.
  • Assists with analyzing user/business needs and functionality to plan and design software systems to meet those needs.
  • Assists with creating a variety of models and diagrams that show programmers the software code needed for an application.
  • Performs software updates, refinement, testing, and debugging.
  • Prepares reports on software project specifications, activities, or status.
  • Assists with the documentation of software or system for future maintenance and updates.

Basic Qualifications:
  • BA/BS (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years overall IT experience with a focus on Business Objects Reporting (w/ Fiori frontend) version 4.3 or newer.
  • Experience writing complex SQL queries for Oracle.
  • Data Analysis experience.
  • Experience working with the requirements team or end users to shape requirements.
  • Experience developing designs and data structures for reporting.
  • Experience in optimizing BOE environments.
  • Working knowledge of databases and data structures, experience with operational data stores and/or enterprise data warehouses.
