As a Manager - Business Field Services, you’ll supervise and manage a team of technicians who work to install, maintain, provision, dispatch and test various activities at customer sites and/or company locations. The types of services your team will engage with may include: business services, LNS, Legacy T, data services, CPE, Wi-Fi, video and/or 911 technologies and related power equipment. You’ll oversee the network and the relationship your team has with high profile revenue generating business customers. In addition to planning, organizing and directing all operations with respect to installation support, service and major moves, adds and changes, you’ll resolve customer complaints or service issues. Most importantly, you’ll ensure that all functions are performed in a timely fashion to meet customer and company specifications.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the installation, provision, repair, and maintenance of customer equipment, SONET / network element hardware including bulk power plants and battery maintenance.
  • Manage technicians as they mark, locate and protect the AT&T Legacy T and LNS fiber networks.
  • Review technician performance and provide feedback and coaching to address performance issues.
  • Conduct safety and quality inspections to ensure high quality and safe performance by technicians.
  • Work with dispatch to ensure that work is effectively assigned.
  • Ensures that all technician training is completed.
  • Receive technician grievances and resolve them at the step one level as appropriate.
  • Handle issues related to union matter as necessary.
  • Oversee the management of technicians which will include responsibility for their time reporting, payroll, on-call and vacation scheduling.
  • May be responsible for utilizing management systems & Operational Control (MSOC) techniques to manage employee efficiency, performance and customer service.

Education & Experience:

  • Extensive technical expertise with DS1, ABF, Ethernet, BVOIP, Routers, Switches, WiFi, Fiber, CPE and SONET.
  • Technical degree preferred or 3-5 years of network related technical experience
  • Experience with Outside Plants, Central Offices or Power

Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver’s License
