Under supervision, the study coordinator will support the research efforts for the Positive Emotion and Anxiety Research Laboratory and Anxiety and Traumatic Stress Disorders Research Center. Incumbent effort will specifically be targeted on the following research studies involving subjects with clinically elevated symptoms of anxiety and/or depression: Novel Behavioral Intervention to Target Social Reward Sensitivity and Attachment; Positive Emotional Processing; and Engaging the Endocannabinoid System with Cannabidiol to Reduce Anxiety Reactivity. Duties will include: overseeing recruitment and retention of research subjects to ensure adequate subject flow; coordinating subject appointments with facilities and staff; administering experimental protocols involving the collection of symptom, behavioral, physiological, brain imaging, and biological data; administering diagnostic interviews acquiring confidential and sensitive information including medical/mental health history; conducting functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) as a certified 3T MRI scan operator; maintenance of accurate and complete clinical research files; overseeing compliance with regulatory reporting including NIH reporting, data monitoring committee, and annual IRB; updating study databases and ensuring compliance with standardized protocol; recruiting and training research assistant student interns on study procedures, and coordination of ongoing research studies. Perform other duties as needed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Theoretical knowledge of psychiatry, psychology, generally acquired through a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong computer skills including: Proficiency in using database software including Microsoft Office (Word, Access, Excel, and Power Point). Familiarity with using SPSS or similar data management and processing software. Familiarity with RedCap (or similar electronic data capture systems). Familiarity with E-Prime (or similar computerized tasks). Experience performing research duties in a clinical research environment and coordinating research studies. Experience with following a research protocol in order to initiate study procedures, and collect data. Experience with collecting sensitive information and communicating effectively while maintaining confidentiality. Demonstrated experience administering computerized and paper assessments and self-report questionnaires. Working knowledge of clinical trial research design and methodology and DSM 5 criteria. Proven ability to work with site monitor including preparing study records for review and responding to data queries. Demonstrated experience administering detailed clinical interviews. Proven experience monitoring subject participation in various components of studies, provide reports as requested by Principal Investigator. Develop and maintain a detailed follow up log for assessing participant progress. Demonstrated experience training staff and abiding by study protocols and established SOPs. Understanding of IRB and NIH annual and unexpected reporting including enrollment, withdrawals, adverse events, and protocol deviations. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of MRI and Mock Scan procedures and MRI safety. Completion of UCSD Keck Center for functional MRI Safety Training and Scan Operator Certification. Certification as a 3.0 Tesla MR scanner operator. SPECIAL CONDITIONS Employment is subject to a criminal background check. Must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed.
