Your Responsibilities

As a (Software Engineer) for (Data Enablement Team) located in (Johnston, IA), you will….

+ Developing and supporting high quality John Deere Financial Data Enablement RESTful APIs

+ Engaging in all aspects of the software delivery cycle including the design, build, test, deploy, and support of software applications

+ Serve as a team technical lead

+ Engaging in Agile software development activities including team sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives

In addition, you will....

+ Collaborating with Product Managers, Architects, and other supporting teams to define product requirements, system design, and delivery cadences

+ Taking a lead role in proposing application/system designs, communicating delivery estimates, and providing consistent hands-on guidance to ensure the delivery of high quality products

+ Supporting a culture of software craftsmanship best practices including Test Automation, Continuous Integration/Deployment, and DevOps methodologies

+ Mentoring and developing junior team members through code pairing or other technical skill coaching

What Skills You Need

+ Develop, code, configure, test, and deploy solutions to support analytics users

+ Maintain solutions to meet JDF's compliance needs and goals by partnering with appropriate resources across IT, Security, Governance and Compliance

+ Maintain a strong and collaborative working relationship with front-end application delivery teams and other relevant stakeholders and team members

+ Ensure reusability and efficiency in the design, build and support of analytics solutions

+ Evaluate and implement enhancement design solutions to improve cost, quality, and performance of Master Data software applications

+ Follow industry-standard agile software design methodology for development and documentation

+ Utilize your understanding of applications development environment, database, data management and infrastructure capabilities and constraints to deliver value to our customers

What Makes You Stand Out

+ 1 or more years of experience or knowledge of Amazon Web Services (RDS, S3, Lambda, etc.)

+ 1 or more years – Python or Java development

+ 1 or more years - Complex SQL writing skills

+ 1 or more years of experience in analyzing and translating business requirements into technical solutions

+ Strong analytic skills with high attention to detail and accuracy


Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

+ Bachelor's degree in C omputer Science or a related field such as Programming, Data Science, Business Information Systems, or Mathematics
