Job Description

The Weyerhaeuser sawmill located in Plymouth, NC has an opening for a skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician. The role requires basic multi-craft skills with strong PLC skills and Mechanical/Electrical skills.

Key Functions:
  • Machine center troubleshooting, repair, assembly and preventative maintenance
  • Reading blue print and sketches proficiently to fabricate equipment and make modifications
  • Repair or replace chains; belt conveyors; gear boxes/drive chains
  • Hydraulics & pneumatics
  • Welding/cutting; and using power tools.
  • PLC and VFD troubleshooting and replacement.
  • Ladder Logic knowledge and use is a plus.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of maintenance work experience OR equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting, repair and replacement
  • Rigging and Lifting knowledge and experience
  • PLC and VFD troubleshooting and replacement is preferred
  • 3 Phase Motor troubleshooting, repair and replacement is preferred
  • Experience in circuitry, job planning, machine center alignment and cutting/welding is preferred
  • Must be willing to work a weekend shift
  • Willingness and ability to work at heights as well as climbing stairs, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in an environment containing wood dust and extreme heat or cold are required in order to perform the essential job functions
