Job Summary


  • Support the delivery of the corporate responsibility strategy and activities for TJX Europe, across our CR pillars; Workplace, Environment, Responsible Business and Community. Work closely with stakeholders, internally and externally, to support the development and implementation recommendations for programmes and activities.


  • With a focus on the Responsible Business and Environment CR pillars, keep pace with industry developments, best practice and benchmarking to maximise opportunities to enhance our programmes and activities and to support the Manager of to engage, influence or challenge the business on appropriate fronts.


  • Collate relevant and regular CR content and impact measurement across our programmes to enable the development of engaging customer and associate communications.




Key Responsibilities


Responsible Business


  • Work closely with the Manager of Responsible Business, and in conjunction with Buying, Buying Operations Support and Merchandising to regularly review our programmes including Uganda Sustainable Trade and Vendor compliance programmes (Charity Merchandise) to ensure they can be delivered to meet stakeholder expectations for TJX Europe.


  • In collaboration with the Manager of, and working with our CR consultants, carry out regular horizon scanning to identify emerging sustainability and raw material trends and challenges. Work with internal stakeholders to coordinate data to evaluate any business impacts which will enable recommendations to be made.


  • Support the evaluation of sustainable attributes and certifications to ensure we maintain credible verification of products that can be included in our sustainable product edit.


  • Work with the Manager of Responsible Business to develop awareness training and guidelines for Buying teams to support them in increasing the breadth and depth of products with sustainable attributes. 




  • Working with internal stakeholders across ECSO, GS&P, Logistics and Property, support the CR Manager to ensure appropriate and timely collation of data for external carbon accreditations and reporting.


  • Working with internal stakeholders across ECSO, Legal, GS&P and Shopping Experience, support the expansion of the Give Up Clothes For Good programme into Region 2 - Germany.


  • Support the Manager of Responsible Business in the data collation and evaluation of scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions against the projected target pathways and support the development of scope 3 approach.


k       Key skills, knowledge and experience


  • Experience of working in project management in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience of supply chain auditing requirements would be desirable

  • Up to date knowledge of supply chain, raw material and sustainability issues and developments.

  • Fluent in English – proven excellent writing and presenting skills.

  • Experience of working within a pan-European matrix business.

  • Well organised, able to prioritise and work with multiple projects at once.

  • Strong interpersonal skills – relationship building, team workings, influencing skills.

  • Budget, project and stakeholder management experience.

  • A demonstrated track record in writing proposals

  • Task management and delivery in research and report writing

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent inter-personal communication

  • Self-Starter, develops and delivers work under own initiative

  • Good organisation and time management skills

  • Solutions orientated

  • Passion for corporate responsibility
