We are seeking a Director for UX Research & Strategy who can define and drive E2E Experience Strategy across Honeywell’s Safety & Productivity Solutions (SPS) division. You will work directly with senior leaders from design, marketing, and technology to determine the next generation of products and services that offer desirable, usable, and market-leading experiences. We will count on you to lead research and customer engagement, coach and mentor the UX research team, and represent Honeywell User Experience (HUE) to both internal and external customers. You will be the primary owner of customer/user E2E experience strategy and responsible for UX best practice and assets for the organization. As a global UX design leader, you are adept at translating user insights into design criteria, working closely with digital and physical designers to produce outstanding branded, seamless experiences across the SPS portfolio.

You are proficient at planning, executing, and analyzing user research at all stages of a project, and can create compelling recommendations for a broad range of new products, services, environments, and devices. You will be responsible for facilitating continuous improvement of our UX design process and expanding the profile of Honeywell as a leader in experience design creating world class solutions. You will assist in developing new business as well as advocating for our approach with partners and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the global UX research team to identify end-user needs & behaviors through observation, interviews, surveys, analytics, workshops, user testing.
  • Create a robust E2E research MOS with strong codified processes and playbooks.
  • Improve experiences of customers by ensuring high quality E2E design. Build E2E journeys and define the experience strategy (BXT) for SPS businesses.
  • Identify winning experience outcomes that increase customer adoption and satisfaction. Tie new opportunities to value.
  • Build deep domain knowledge of Honeywell markets, portfolios, technologies & competitor products. Partner with marketing and technology leaders to develop product roadmaps.
  • Lead customer engagement. Spend significant time talking to customers & co designing with them.
  • Facilitate x-functional workshops for users/customers and product development teams.
  • Represent design at the top table and network with C-Suite leaders to develop & launch winning products.
  • Set up experience design metrics that convey insights to leaders and link design to business growth.
  • Drive internal/external communications, evangelize HUE and support SPS training events.
  • Be a connector. Forge strong connections with the research team & partnering functions to enable a healthy, productive culture.


  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years of experience in UX Design
  • 5+ years managing teams, to include:
  • Experience working across multiple types of products and platforms
  • Experience in heuristic evaluation, contextual and lab research methods
  • Experience in discovery, concepting and insight application
  • People-management experience in matrixed organizations


  • Advanced education desired
  • Deep understanding of the principles and best practices for human centered design
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Extensive experience in observational user research, ethnography, insighting and synthesis
  • Extensive experience in new product development
  • High level of proficiency in user experience design (customer journey mapping, experience diagramming, task analysis, workflow design)
  • Outstanding user experience portfolio of concepts and commercialized products
  • Experience in trends analysis, forecasting and benchmarking
  • Experience in design team leadership, project planning, scoping and execution in a phase-gate and AGILE environment
