Summary:
The Lead App/Sys Sales Engineer will be a key enabler to LST’s growth by leading the adoption of UOP’s integrated solutions by our customers. With our integrated offering and lifecycle management vision, your deep technical understanding and business acumen you will create value propositions that unlock value for our customers in innovative ways. In this role, you will connect with many stakeholders (business, sales, technical services, legal, marketing, breakthrough initiative partners, etc.) to ensure value for customer, internal alignment and profitable business growth that enables the power of LST. Accountabilities
Drive execution of performance solutions and transactional opportunities through development of value proposition and the business case for specific opportunities including performance estimates, input on strategy for sales event, preparation of technical proposal and technical appendices, preparation and delivery of technical sales presentations in customer meetings that result in successful sales.
Develop the financials and deal structure for transactional and performance solution opportunities you drive. Ensure with Legal that UOP confidentiality, intellectual property and other interests are protected in the course of generating customer deliverables.
Participate in customer discussions for project opportunities to gain understanding of customer drivers, provide technical sales input and develop an understanding of the customer’s needs and expectations to meet or exceed customer requirements and increase satisfaction that lead to a winning proposal and successful sales event.
You will be key in leading the transformation from transactional to outcome in your area of expertise.
Develop innovative solutions across multiple process units to create unique value proposition for the customer by looking at an opportunity from a high level and then delve into the details to validate the technical and commercial feasibility.
Drive customer engagements throughout sales cycle and into delivery, with effective hand-off of accountabilities to operations & service teamQualifications:
Bachelors degree (Chemical Engineering) with exposure to plant operation and engineering is required.
More than 12 years of experience in Refining and Petrochemical Industry
Subject matter expert for aftermarket offerings, with complete knowledge of yield estimation, proposal preparation and having detailed understanding about UOP and competitive offerings in this LOB.
Lead trainings for new engineers
Ability to perform engineering calculations and simulations and analyze operating data and prepare value proposition for aftermarket offerings
Preparing yield estimation guidelines, sales collateral, and documents for new product launch and work as a liaison with other departments for creating technical deliverables when needed.
Understanding about competitive strategy and ability to build technical strategy for aftermarket sales by evaluating risks and preparing risk mitigation plans while developing performance guarantees
Support offering managers to build commercial strategies when needed and has experience in negotiating agreements with Customer and deliver customer presentations.
Good interpersonal skills with ability to work in a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment and lead major internal projects by managing stakeholders and lead team of engineers
Expected travel: 25-35%
