With a full roadmap of future technologies under development to enable leadership products, Logic Technology Development (LTD) needs technical leaders to help lead the organization to success. Thin films group, a unique and diverse team within Logic Technology Development (LTD), and comprised of modules that focus on leading edge thin film deposition, including metals, metal oxides, epitaxial silicon films, and planarization techniques is looking for Staff engineers to collaborate with vendor teams to drive development and deliver effective solutions to critical problems across multiple process technologies and enable technology advancement.
Staff Engineers in the Logic Technology Development (LTD) group play a critical role in driving process technology leadership and unlocking the potential of Intel's IDM 2.0 strategy. Intel looks for its technical leaders to leverage their talents and magnify their impact through excellent collaboration with other technical teams inside and outside of Logic Technology Development (LTD). In this role as technologists, resident engineers are expected to embed themselves into the vendor teams, coordinate process demos and equipment development, help collect data and solve problems and make real-time decisions to ultimately deliver fast data turnaround and vision working closely with for next gen HW development.

Job responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

  • Safety - Be a safety role model at the vendor site and carry intel safety values
  • Designing, executing and analyzing experiments necessary to meet engineering specifications for the process.
  • Have a strong passion and a hands-on mindset during new equipment, material and process development and selections
  • Understand the supplier landscape, develop and execute to process, material and equipment config. roadmaps to meet LTD's long-term technology and cost requirements.
  • Define and establish flow, procedures, and equipment configuration for the module.
  • Selecting and developing materials and equipment for process to meet quality, reliability, cost, yield, productivity and manufacturability requirements.
  • Leading and Conducting process, equipment and material development projects with equipment and material suppliers. This will involve exceptional collaboration with cross-functional/cross-company teams and tool vendors to meet challenging program goals.
  • Developing equipment to enhance functionality and improve the process (in collaboration with equipment suppliers), driving equipment supplier to identify shortcomings, proposing, and evaluating hardware modification to resolve issues.
  • Forecasting future technology needs and drive process area roadmaps to ensure technology readiness.


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Traits:

  • Demonstrated experience with independent problem statement generation and rapid analysis of complex problems to identify a solution path
  • Good communication skills and demonstrated ability to summarize complex data sets for technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Demonstrated a track record of excellence in technical achievement, enabling new semiconductor equipment capabilities, and process technology development for capability, world class cost and productivity.
  • Demonstrated experience working with external and internal partners, including leading edge semiconductor equipment and/or materials manufacturers.
  • A fast learner, ability to be self-directing and adapt to the culture and the technology, show initiative and work with diverse teams in a dynamic environment
  • Flexible in accommodating changing priorities and scope to meet business needs

Minimum Requirements:

  • This position is based in Silicon Valley, CA.
  • 5+ years' experience working in the semiconductor industry with strong contributions to Path Finding, Technology Development and Ramp Phases.
  • 5+ years' experience working with equipment manufacturers, internal partners, and materials vendors.
  • Must possess a M.S. or PhD Engineering degree in Physics, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or a closely related field.
