Position Overview:

Eaton Corporation is currently seeking a Director, Strategic Planning & Business Development – Aerospace Division, to join our team. This position can be based in Irvine, CA, Los Angeles, CA or our Dallas, TX facility

Reporting to the Vice President - Strategy & Marketing, The Director, Strategic Planning & Business Development provides leadership for strategic planning and business development across the Aerospace Group. You will be the aerospace expert who provides vision and direction across the enterprise. The position will drive the strategic planning function. The role also has overall responsibility for developing, evaluating and executing the global pipeline of acquisition, partnership and divestiture opportunities.

Essential Responsibilities:

+ Lead the aerospace group’s strategic planning process from development to approval by the Industrial Sector Leadership team. This involves selecting a talented virtual team, providing direction and managing the process to a tight schedule

+ Direct the development of divisional strategic plans in line with the Aerospace Group’s Key Strategic Issues. This involves leading reviews with the SLT during the process as well as providing input and guidance

+ Ensure that the strategic plan and the technology roadmaps are fully aligned with the SLT and the divisional leadership teams

+ Keeps an active acquisition pipeline with break-out and divisional candidates and develops deep relationships with acquisition targets

+ Oversees the preparation of business cases including strategic rationale, valuation input and integration planning

+ Conducts portfolio management reviews across the business and supervises divestiture activities

+ Rebuild Aerospace BD team bench strength by recruiting / hiring talent and provide effective organizational leadership

+ Ability to build organizational capability and develop and grow a team

+ Possess the ability to resolve issues on all levels. Must proactively recognize and solve complex functional program issues.

+ Passionate change leader with high energy and the ability to work effectively across a complex, global organization.

+ Intelligent, with excellent analytical and strategic skills. Good business judgment and problem-solving skills.

+ Demonstrated track record of customer engagement and strong negotiating skills.

+ Demonstrated track record of driving growth for Aerospace products in adjacent markets

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

+ Minimum of 10 years of experience in strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions or business development

+ Candidate must be authorized to work in the US on a continuous basis without company sponsorship

Education:

+ An undergraduate degree from an accredited institution is required

+ An MBA or advanced degree is preferred

Compensation:

+ Eaton recognizes this role as a critical position within the corporation and will create a compelling package consisting of a base salary, employee incentive compensation, including long term incentive, and complete benefits
