McKesson Pharmacy Systems (MPS) is seeking a highly motivated Database Developer to join our EnterpriseRx® Software Development team. Position Description:

If you have a passion for engineering quality software, we are interested in you. We are seeking an experienced database developer that will work with our team to achieve fantastic results. As a contributor within the EnterpriseRx® research and development (R&D) team, you will a work in a collaborative and highly skilled Agile team. EnterpriseRx® is an enterprise class software solution that manages pharmacy workflow activities and increases revenue into pharmacies. The Database Developer will consult with development teams to build logical data models that support new business needs, work on feature teams to build new functionality that leverages PL/SQL to interact with the transactional database, enhance our ETL processes to do more, faster and work with internal and external customers to get the most out of the data warehouse, troubleshoot database performance issues and tune SQL. You should have experience in writing PL/SQL code, preferably with Oracle. Experience working with cloud databases is a plus.

Minimum Requirements
2+ years' experience in database architecture and development

  • Experience designing and developing using SQL and PL/SQL
  • Experience with agile software engineering methodology
  • Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • Energetic, passionate, and creative software developer who values people, relationships, performance while positively contributing to building a great culture
  • Experience working in a commercial software development team. Familiarity with Oracle or other RDBMS.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Key Responsibilities:
  • Actively participates in cross-functional feature teams, which may include Architecture, Development, Quality Assurance, Product Management, Project Management, and Hosting Infrastructure & Operations team members
  • Designs, develops, and tunes PL/SQL in our high-volume database environment
  • Adds new and refactors existing ETL data warehouse processes
  • Analyzes and resolves complex technical issues for Tier 3 Production Support
  • Communicates effectively with business leaders regarding project progress, status, and roadblocks
  • Works with remote teams in different time zones or on different continents
  • Passionately seeks continuous process improvement
  • Thinks critically with the ability to assess and recommend changes to the status quo or new ways of working smarter
  • Understanding the retail pharmacy and clinical services domain and learning how customers use McKesson products to manage their business
