The Senior System Engineer requires expert level experience and is a hands-on function that ultimately results in the delivery of an application or service. Position is responsible for translating the core architecture for business requirements into the final technical solution (consisting of platform, network, software, cloud, etc.) through functional, performance, and reliability analysis using engineering models and techniques.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain databases and database applications to manage data using multiple RDBMS types; Oracle (RAC), MySQL, SQL Server, Cassandra, MongoDB, DB2, Informix and others.
  • Researches and recommends technology to improve the current systems.
  • Contributes through own development of advanced technologies/concepts with global reach or industry application.
  • Works independently in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment with other IT professionals, and reports directly to the Technology Operations manager.
  • Serves as a role model and mentor.

Qualifications:

  • Expert level technical professional.  Technical authority Subject Matter Expert (SME) within organization.  
  • Typically requires 8-10 years of System Database Administrator experience.
  • Preferred Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Science, Electrical Engineering, or Math; Developer nanodegree; or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work in a large, complex project environment while collaborating with 3rd party vendors to meet deadlines and deliverables.
