At Microsoft Technology Center (MTC), we push the boundaries of what is possible. We believe in changing the world for the better by driving innovation in delivering performance through software runtimes and compilers - building blocks for AI, gaming, immersive platforms, and the data center. As a member of our engineering community, you will be collaborating across organizations to develop and enable software capabilities for profiling system performance (e.g. throughput, memory consumption, energy efficiency) across compute accelerators. This will enable developers to characterize applications end-to-end and tune for optimal performance for cloud and edge AI deployments.


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school-work/ classes/ research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be pursuing a Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering  or related discipline.

6+ months of experience:

  • Leading machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or ONNX Runtime
  •  C/C++ and/or Python

Availability for a 3-month internship

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of performance engineering

Knowledge of Accelerator/XPU computing such as GPGPU/VPU

Computer architecture

Availability for a 6-month internship
