The Compensation and Performance Management Design and Governance (CPMDG) team is looking for a Business Initiatives Consultant to help continue efforts and initiatives to strengthen and enhance the Incentive Compensation and Performance Management Governance Program. This includes the ensuring key program activities are institutionalized across the company to meet internal and external requirements. Areas of focus include being a strategic contributor in the optimization and strengthening of existing governance program activities as well as creating governance models for newly identified areas of opportunity.

This individual will work with partners in Compensation, Finance, Risk, Legal, Compliance and HR across the enterprise to ensure our governance programs enable the business to drive revenue while managing risk, comply with evolving external and internal requirements, and deliver on the team member value proposition. This individual will bring knowledge regarding the economics and risk profiles of Wells Fargo’s businesses. They will lead and influence across matrixed teams in contributing to the successful delivery of projects and broad initiatives with multiple stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support enterprise efforts to further advance the risk management of key Incentive Compensation and Performance management governance programs.
  • Develop and oversee key methodologies for assigned governance programs to ensure appropriate levels of oversight and monitoring are accounted for in applicable policies, standards, procedures, guidelines and documentation.
  • Help the CPMDG team meet dynamic regulatory, business, and risk management requirements.
  • Understand and review the impact of new regulations to Wells Fargo businesses, including the role of team members, the risk they take, their incentive compensation arrangements, associated balancing features and control environment.
  • Work effectively with and across Wells Fargo businesses to develop effective and efficient practices within all business lines.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: project management, implementation, or strategic planning

  • Ability to drive and lead organizational change in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members
  • Superior project management skills including the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to research, analyze, document, and present organizational metrics that drive business decisions
  • Consulting experience in compensation, human resources, accounting, or finance
  • Knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance requirements surrounding incentive compensation and risk management
  • Experience developing, implementing and monitoring a risk-based compliance program to assure compliance with federal, state, agency, legal and regulatory requirements or providing oversight to a compliance function
  • Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills with ability to turn findings into strategic imperatives
  • Ability to influence, partner, and negotiate with senior business leaders to gain commitment to accomplish business goals
  • Financial services experience
