Info Security Sr Manager - Innovation and Strategy

Wells Fargo is seeking an experienced Information and Cyber Security leader to join our Application Security team as the senior manager responsible for strategy and innovation. This role will be responsible for driving a culture of innovation across Application Security organization and leading transformation initiatives across Wells Fargo related to application security. The Application Security function within Information Cyber Security is responsible for the secure software training, practices, and processes to address security risks across all phases of the Wells Fargo software development life cycle and prevent the introduction of unmanaged software security risks. This position will be responsible for developing and continuous refinement of strategic plans in alignment with industry trends, emerging threats, and best practices to meet business, technology, and security objectives. This position will develop a strategy for application security focused on a preventive, proactive, and predictive program while listening to the voice of the developer. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in leading engineering design and development to create innovative technical capabilities. The candidate will have experience in consulting senior leadership with decisions related to business process, security controls, policies and standards, regulations, and investment. Interaction with internal partners including technology and line of business leaders and executives will be required.

This position will be responsible for:

  • Own, define and manage Application Security initiatives focused on driving innovation across an enterprise program
  • Understand new industry trends, threats, and best practices to develop a proactive, preventive and predictive program
  • Develop and refine strategic plans incorporating industry threats, emerging technology, business/technology objectives, and the voice of the developer
  • Drive a culture of innovation across Application Security
  • Drive technical program implementation across a cross-functional teams in WFT
  • Partner with key internal stakeholders for tool and process enhancements to improve the security posture

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of technology experience
  • 5+ years of experience with strategic planning in a technology environment
  • 3+ years of experience with leadership in an enterprise technology environment
  • 5+ years of information security experience
  • 3+ years of experience delivering complex enterprise wide information technology solutions
  • 3+ years of automation experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience managing large or multiple technology development efforts within a major line of business
  • Ability to influence across all organizational levels, particularly senior management
  • Knowledge and understanding of banking or financial services industry
  • Knowledge and understanding of data security controls including malware protection, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, content filtering, Internet proxies, encryption controls, and log management solutions
  • Knowledge and understanding of full life cycle application development
  • Knowledge and understanding of full life cycle software development
  • Knowledge and understanding of Implementation strategy development and delivery
  • 6+ years of information security experience including experience in one or more of the following security disciplines: information security monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, host/network forensics, cyber-crime investigation, penetration testing, business continuity, or cyber threat intelligence
  • 2+ years of Kubernetes experience
  • 3+ years of experience with secure DevOps and deployment automation to cloud environments

Other Desired Qualifications
  • 3+ years of technology strategy development experience
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of information security practices and policies, including Information Security Frameworks, Standards, and best practices
  • Experience managing senior professionals

Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
