Wells Fargo is seeking an experienced information and cyber security leader to join our Application Security team as the senior manager of Application Security Lifecycle & Sunrise.  The Application Security function within Information and Cyber Security is responsible for the secure software development, pre-release validation and production validation of application security controls. This role will transform and operate preproduction application security processes used by all Wells Fargo applications. This position is directly accountable along with their peers for accelerating development while ensuring and improving security of the Wells Fargo applications.  The Senior Manager will be responsible for the Application Security Lifecycle prior to production release including preproduction validation controls (ICS Sunrise) for all Wells Fargo applications; including applications developed internally or vendor hosted. Additionally, this role will be responsible for relationship management across senior leaders, application developers, and application managers to gather “voice of the developer & application owner” to continuously improve and enhance pre-production application security processes.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in leading and/or building enterprise application security processes/ programs. The candidate will have experience in consulting senior leadership with decisions related to business process, security controls, policies and standards, regulations, and investment. Interaction with internal partners including technology and line of business leaders and executives will be required.

This position will be responsible for:

  • Daily operational management of Application Security pre-production processes
  • Strengthening security of applications released to production
  • Accelerating production release of applications
  • Integrating & automating pre-production application security processes into development and application manager
  • operations.
  • Interfacing with technology and business stakeholders concerning application security
  • Partner with key internal stakeholders for tool and process enhancements to improve the security posture of applications


Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of information security experience
  • 3+ years of automation experience
  • 7+ years of technology experience
  • 5+ years of experience with strategic planning in a technology environment
  • 3+ years of experience with leadership in an enterprise technology environment



Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge and understanding of banking or financial services industry
  • Knowledge and understanding of data security controls including malware protection, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, content filtering, Internet proxies, encryption controls, and log management solutions
  • Knowledge and understanding of full life cycle application development
  • Knowledge and understanding of full life cycle software development
  • Knowledge and understanding of Implementation strategy development and delivery
  • 6+ years of information security experience including experience in one or more of the following security disciplines: information security monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, host/network forensics, cyber-crime investigation, penetration testing, business continuity, or cyber threat intelligence
  • Experience managing senior architects
  • Experience managing large or multiple technology development efforts within a major line of business
  • Ability to influence across all organizational levels, particularly senior management



Other Desired Qualifications
  • 5 + years – Development experience in more than one language
  • 3 + years – CI/CD integration experience
  • Static Analysis Security Testing (SAST) experience (Checkmarx, Fortify, Semgrep, manual code review, etc.)
  • Recent Java or C# & .NET CORE development experience including the development of RESTful APIs
  • Experience with Artificial Intelligence with a focus on Machine Learning
  • Experience with SDLC and Agile methodologies
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of information security practices and policies, including Information Security Frameworks, Standards, and best practices


Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
