Summary

The CPR Instructor is an RN that is responsible for the basic and advanced life support education. This RN will facilitate emergency/resuscitation educational experiences for physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, other health care providers, and community members. Offerings include American Heart Association (AHA) courses, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC), and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC). The Basic and Advanced Life Support Educator provides clinical, educational, and technical expertise in the development, implementation, teaching and evaluation of educational initiatives related to emergency/resuscitation education. This position is responsible for managing all instructors aligned in our Training Center including all external Training Sites. This role requires a highly competent, organized and personable individual to oversee program development, implementation, and evaluation.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • BSN required
  • Current permit or license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas
  • Minimum of 3 years clinical experience (ICU experience preferred)
  • Current instructor certification for BLS or PALS. If candidate does not hold all of the required certifications, completion will be required in the first year.
  • Prior teaching experience preferred
