The Opportunity

The Regional Manager of Process Engineering's role is to manage fulfillment process engineering within a geographic region. This includes the management of two to three engineers within that region along with two to five fulfillment centers. This role will need to hire, lead, train, manage, develop the engineers on their team. This leader of others will need to be strong analytically. TheRegional Manager of Process Engineering will also have to have a great deal of experience in distribution and with different distribution technologies.

Your Impact
  • Responsible for all process engineering deliverables within their region
  • Responsible for hiring, training, and managing their team of two to three engineers
  • Responsible for motivating, developing, and building a strong engineering team
  • Responsible for building and maintaining their regional partnership with Operations, Maintenance, Procurement, and Project Engineering
  • Conduct direct labor studies using acceptable engineering practices to determine areas for improvement.
  • Assist in preparations of departmental budget, including material, manpower, equipment, and outside procurement costs and operate within approved parameters.
  • Analyze and evaluate distribution methods and standards. Recommend improvements (technology, process, material handling, etc.) to maximize workflow and spatial utilization.
  • Process design and implementation plans that result in improved service, cost savings, or improved quality of services.
  • Concept design, approval, justification, project management, and implementation of capital and facility expansion projects.
  • Provide support for an engineered labor standards program.
  • Update and maintain facility AutoCAD layouts.
  • Partner with Operations to develop preferred methods/Standard Operating Procedures for the warehouse.
  • Manage, coach, train, develop their team of engineers
  • Identify, sell, and execute process improvement opportunities while partnering with all stake holders on the solution
  • Development of baseline rates and labor standards using MOST and time studies to create and validate standards
  • Management of small capital projects
  • Compare different processes analytically using engineering methods including supporting kaizen events
  • Lead and manage the capital budgeting process for their region
  • Support Operations as the analytical expert including supporting kaizen events

What You Bring
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or other engineering discipline
  • 7-10 years of experience in industrial engineering
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office required
  • Ability to identify opportunities in a warehouse setting, sell solutions, and drive process improvements to execution
  • Must be able to work within a cross functional team and develop solutions
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple and concurrent priorities
  • Motion and time study experience required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, professional attitude, and approach
  • Ability to effectively present information to all levels of management
  • Strong technical aptitude required, as well as the ability to think analytically
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact with company personnel at all levels up and down
  • Excellent time/project management, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Ability to supervise/manage, engineers effectively
  • Proven track record coaching, mentoring, and motivating and managing employees' skills development
  • Knowledge of WMS and LMS systems
  • Strong math skills and analytical acumen
  • Extensive knowledge of all types of distribution
  • Experience with different distribution technologies, pick to light, voice pick, and AGVs
