Primary Responsibilities: 

•Works from preliminary and final design drawings, sketches, and oral and written instructions requiring interpretation and application of experience and judgment to determine the most appropriate method to meet laboratory and production requirements.


•Determines methods and sequence of operations to lay out, assemble, troubleshoot, test and perform manufacturing operations for space vehicle electro-mechanical devices, assemblies, subsystems, systems, mechanisms, and controls.


•Fabricates, assembles, installs, aligns and troubleshoots lightweight, fragile spacecraft assemblies, and subsystems.


•Exercises technical judgment in consultation on the substitution of parts and materials.


•Assists engineers and research assistants in determining improved procedures and performs specific duties at assigned manufacturing and test stations.


•Conducts tests using specially designed equipment.


•May provide assistance to personnel in lower related job classifications.


•Performs rework of the same nature and level of difficulty as described.


•Completes training and job related course work for certifications as required.


•Performs incidental related duties as assigned or required.
