The Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) Space and Launch Systems (S&LS) is seeking an Integrated Planning and Scheduling Specialist to support the Government Satellite Systems DoD Commercial/Civil program.  This position will be located in El Segundo, California

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supports in studies/analysis and planning efforts within and/or across programs/projects, organizations or business units to determine impacts, constraints, and plans involving product development, process improvement, or program initiative.
  • Helps develop proposal plans and schedules, baseline execution schedules.
    Supports the IP&S team in developing, integrating and maintaining the IMS reporting to the Program Management team.
  • Helps ensure schedule compliance, assessment of schedule risk, identification of opportunities (including schedule margin planning) and robust/actionable performance reporting from the IMS to support and drive program management understanding and action.
  • Assists with Critical Path analysis, scheduling metrics and reports that depict program execution and progress to plan.
  • Supports in the integration of supplier and partner plans into the IMS to ensure the whole team is operating to the same rhythm and priorities.
  • Assists in program execution through quick turn generation of prospective schedule performance analyses, recovery/alternate scenario planning and improved schedule
  • As an IP&S Specialist, you will be responsible for assigned program and project planning and scheduling support to programs within the business area.
  • Assists in participating  in all aspects of Integrated Planning & Scheduling (IP&S) activities and will support the following roles to provide actionable, value added products to customers:
    Program Planning – Development of initial planning products (e.g. IMP, WBS, Master Phasing Schedule)
  • Helps ensure Program Scheduling – Development of the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)
    Detailed Scheduling & Change Management – Development and maintenance of lower level schedules
  • Change Integration – Management of the change integration teams
  • Manage Project Management – Lead key program initiatives to improve execution

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at El Segundo, CA.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • Experience developing and maintaining integrated resource-loaded project schedules, including the use of project management tools and software such as MS Project, Milestones, Primavera, Open Plan Professional, etc.
  • Experience developing and integrating program-level master schedules.
  • Experience collecting, organizing, synthesizing, and analyzing data, then summarizing findings; developing conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

  • Experience in Project Performance Management with Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS) Earned Value Management (EVM) requirements
  • Experience performing schedule-related risk and opportunity analyses and providing potential solutions to management.
  • Experience developing plans for integrated work statement across multiple programs or functions
  • Experience in a role which required strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience using project management principles and industry best practices (PMBOK), including a thorough understanding of the project management life cycle, knowledge areas, and tools
  • Experience using Open Plan Professional (OPP)

Typical Education/Experience
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.).
