The Chief Operating Office (COO) is responsible for delivering a more consistent approach to business operations across Wells Fargo, strengthening the company’s risk and control infrastructure, and delivering effective and efficient enterprise services to employees and customers.

The COO group includes the head of Operations, who is jointly responsible for line of business operations with each of the five LOB CEOs. Operations functions include contact center operations, client servicing support, money movements within our businesses, lending operations, and other functions.
The COO group also includes a number of teams dedicated to strengthening Wells Fargo’s risk and control infrastructure. These include the Control Executive team; Regulatory and Policy Affairs; Enterprise Customer Excellence; Sales Practices Oversight and Management; and Strategic Execution and Operations.

The Chief Administrative Office, encompassing the Corporate Properties Group; Corporate Security; Enterprise Business Resiliency; Strategic Programs and Process Improvement; Enterprise Change Management; Supply Chain Management; and Data Management and Insights, delivers important services for our employees and customers.

DMI Administration supports the implementation of the enterprise data strategy and transformation of the companywide data environment through disciplined management of DMI’s business operations. DMI Administration designs and deploys processes to streamline core operations, coordinates cross-DMI and Wells Fargo enterprise initiatives, implements financial controls and other “gating” tools, and provides a broad range of shared services that can be leveraged across the entire DMI organization (e.g. communications, third-party support, risk management coordination, vendor management, etc.). Finally, DMI Administration partners closely with corporate staff functions to deliver on compliance and process requirements. 

The DMI Administration Program & Operations Design (POD) team is one of seven enablement functions in DMI Administration. The DMI Administration POD team executes and leads implementation of DMI horizontal activities, drives new operational efforts and optimizes existing initiatives; promotes and ensures holistic planning of the DMI India and Philippines global strategy; and accelerates multi-year process, risk, and control program stand-up.

This position will report directly to the POD Leader to support and drive new projects across high priority DMI initiatives and DMI Administration core functions – with an immediate focus on supporting the documentation and implementation of DMI’s process, risk and controls program.  The Business Support Consultant should be comfortable driving projects from conception to resolution in environments with significant ambiguity and with minimal guidance. A successful candidate must be able to distill information from multiple sources, develop and drive resulting recommendations, and present those recommendations to senior and executive audiences. Additionally, this role is responsible for producing cross-function updates, internal consulting, identifying new process and risk improvement / measurement opportunities, and engaging regularly with internal and external partners on core DMI activities in the service, process, risk, control and global delivery spaces. 

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Support execution and implementation of DMI’s efforts to document, maintain and control the work it performs and drive cross-group consistency and alignment in the response to Audit / Regulatory needs as well as enterprise horizontal asks such as Control Testing, Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), etc. 
  • Support enterprise efforts underway to simplify the company, and DMI, process and service landscape including the capture, monitoring and tracking of DMI’s process/risk activity and metrics-based performance
  • Driving the design and implementation of process improvements across DMI to increase efficiencies in operational effectiveness, reduce risk through standardized approaches, and drive continuous improvement as a DMI discipline
  • Defining and implementing DMI-wide approaches to DMI International, third party vendor engagement, and executive reporting (or leading related strategic initiatives and operational functions to support existing processes in those areas)
  • Supporting new project intake and providing strategic consulting services to senior leaders on key program initiatives
  • Conducting ad-hoc analyses to support DMI-wide objectives (e.g., financial analyses, data synthesis, industry research, etc.)

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ year of experience in one or a combination of the following: business support, project management, implementation, business operations or strategic planning in financial services demonstrated through work or military experience
  • 5+ years of project management experience

  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills
  • Management consulting experience at a top-tier consulting firm
  • Ability to influence, partner, and negotiate with senior business leaders to gain commitment to accomplish business goals
  • Experience creating dashboards and reporting formats
  • Experience conducting meetings, presentations and status reporting
  • Ability to take initiative, identify opportunities and implement change
  • Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to present complex material in a digestible, consumable manner to all levels of management
  • Good analytical skills including analyzing complex data
  • Experience analyzing metrics and articulating data trends
  • Knowledge and understanding of Information Technology consulting in the financial services industry

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and lead meetings, including facilitation experience in leading discussions that result in consensus and commitment
  • Ability to lead major internal programs, and experience with broad enterprise program and process redesigns and launches
  • Risk and controls documentation experience

Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

Salary Information

The salary range displayed below is based on a Full-time 40 hour a week schedule.
