This position is for a Procurement Manager. Travel required to customers as needed up to 15%.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages systems and processes to ensure On-Time-Delivery, Quality, and Cost metrics are aligned to support various value streams and internal customers.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the relationship with approximately 5 suppliers throughout various commodities
  • Manages execution of processes, standards, and operational plans in support of Procurement strategy, including RFPs, negotiation strategy, cost accountability, and/or program execution.
  • Reviews changes in price trends and manufacturing processes and makes recommendations to ensure successful procurement process.
  • Manages resolution of client issues or problems, especially with casting and forging vendors.
  • Oversees successful execution of supplier managed transitions.
  • Forecasts and mitigates risk around security of supply due to capacity or sub-tier vendor challenges to include casting and forging vendors.
  • Monitors and coordinates suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries to ensure resolution of problems such as shortages and missed or late deliveries.
  • Authorizes purchase orders, negotiates prices and approves payments to support the procurement process in large territories.
  • Reviews and assesses request for proposals (RFP) and bid packages.
  • Analyzes and monitors contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to help determine need for changes.
  • Directs and manages all schedules, and purchase orders for the client account or the product family.
  • Ensures product is delivered on time, meets quality standards, and at the right cost.
  • May perform delivery assurance responsibilities to include vendor sub-tiers after relationships are established.
  • Sets objectives and guides others on execution/approach for achievement of operational results.
  • Problems faced are difficult and involve consideration of multiple variables.
  • Explains policies, practices, and procedures and may influence others.
  • Advises senior management on best practices based on experiences and daily tactical knowledge

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor___s degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in the aerospace industry or directly for Collins Aerospace
  • Experience working with supply chain and procurement to include casting and forging methodologies
  • Previous history managing employees
  • Technical aptitude, ability to read blueprints, drawings & designs
  • Project management exposure
  • SAP experience
  • Microsoft Office Suite tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
