Scheduled Hours 40 Position Summary Job Description There is a research opportunity in the laboratory of David H. Gutmann, MD, PhD ( ), Director of the Washington University Neurofibromatosis Center ( ). We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate with experience in basic cell and molecular biology. You would be joining a vibrant research team focused on discovering the genomic, genetic, cellular and molecular determinants that cause nervous system dysfunction in people with a common neurogenetic disorder, Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1). Children with NF1 are at risk for brain and nerve tumors, vision loss, learning problems, autism, and developmental disabilities. For the past 25 years, our laboratory has used a combination of novel genetically engineered mice and human induced pluripotent stem cells to identify new treatments for individuals with NF1, but also to better understand similar medical problems in the general population. Salary Range Base pay is commensurate with experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience in mammalian cell culture and histology. Excellent basic laboratory, organizational and record keeping skills. Experience with molecular biology techniques. Demonstrated ability to work independently and communicate with laboratory staff and investigators. Familiarity with computer software (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook). Required Qualifications Bachelorâ™s degree and at least two years of laboratory experience. Candidates with additional education and experience are encouraged to apply. Grade 00 Salary Range Base pay is commensurate with experience. The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
