A trusted partner to our clients, we provide corporate and transactional banking; commercial real estate lending and servicing; investment banking; equity; and fixed income solutions including sales, trading, and research capabilities to corporate, commercial real estate, government, and institutional clients across the globe.

Commercial Real Estate (CRE) is part of Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB), one of five CEO-led businesses for Wells Fargo. CRE operates globally to deliver a comprehensive platform of financing and banking products for experienced commercial real estate companies including balance sheet lending, CMBS origination and distribution, loan servicing, agency financing for multifamily properties, and debt and equity capital for affordable housing. In addition to being the #1 CRE lender in the U.S., Wells Fargo CRE has also earned other notable accolades, including being the #1 Affordable Housing Lender and the #1 Commercial Mortgage Servicer.

The Hospitality Finance Group (HFG) is a specialty lending division within Wells Fargo’s Commercial Real Estate platform that provides financial products and services to leading hotel owners throughout the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.  Target customers include large, well-capitalized private owner/operators, institutional real estate funds dedicated to lodging investments, public and private hotel REITs, and C-Corps.  HFG team members focus exclusively on the lodging sector across a variety of product types. Commercial Real Estate is a cyclical business, and our wide range of services gives us the flexibility to help our clients through even the most difficult economic cycles.  Our underwriting analyzes People/Credit/Real Estate.  Lending activities today emphasize refinancing hotel properties that are leaders in their competitive set, hotel acquisition and repositioning loans, and, on a very selective basis, hotel construction and redevelopment financing.

Wells Fargo is hiring for the role of Commercial Real Estate Analyst 2 in the Hospitality Finance Group, who will be directly responsible for supporting the management of a portfolio of assigned relationships and real estate loans, and underwriting of new real estate loan requests as well as the modification of existing loans.

You will become an integral part of the HFG team and have the opportunity to assume a significant amount of responsibility that may include:

  • Identifying and elevating credit issues to relationship managers and senior leadership early in the underwriting process and recommending ways to mitigate risk
  • Monitoring existing loan portfolio and complete quarterly reporting updates in Wells Fargo’s proprietary reporting system to review monthly operating performance trends against prior periods and comparable properties
  • Preparing borrower/guarantor financial review memorandums to analyze guarantor’s net worth, leverage, liquidity, and other key risk factors, including cash flows and ability to service debt
  • Partnering with relationship managers and recommending structure on transactions
  • Reviewing and assisting in the development of loan agreements and ancillary documents related to the closing of a transaction
  • Participating in property tours and site visits to develop a deeper understanding of the viability of the real estate, its competitive set, and the market
  • Reviewing and interpreting credit policies and procedures and incorporating requirements into credit analysis, lending recommendations, and quarterly reporting updates
  • Working with relationship managers ensuring compliance with Wells Fargo’s “Know Your Customer” BSA/AML requirements.
  • Engaging vendors to facilitate ordering and analyzing third-party reports, including appraisals, property condition reports, environmental reports, and costing analyses.
